Jorge Correia, Post-doctoral researcher
I was born and raised in Portugal and I’ve been fascinated by biology ever since I can remember. I studied at the University of Algarve, in the south of Portugal, where I got my Bachelor’s degree in Biochemistry and my PhD in Biological Sciences – Cellular and Molecular Biology. There, my research mainly focused on liver metabolism, and how gene regulation is modulated to adapt to energetic demands. I then moved to Karolinska Institutet where I started my post-doctoral studies on muscle regeneration in health and disease.
